Difference between weight loss and fat loss
These days, everyone seems to be talking about weight loss, how to lose weight quickly without making much effort; losing excess body fat in order to have a healthy body; metabolism and dietary changes for losing weight etc. However, its not clear about the difference between weight loss and fat loss and people tend to use these terms interchangeably.
What is the difference between weight loss and fat loss?
Weight loss and fat loss are distinctly different from each other. Let us first understand what the two terms exactly mean:
• Weight loss – Your body weight is the sum of the weight of your bones, muscles, organs and the water content that your body retains. Any loss in you total body weight is called weight loss.
In other words, weight loss is the sum total of fat loss, muscle loss and water loss from a human body.
• Fat loss – Any reduction in the total fat in your body is referred to as fat loss. In other words, any reduction in the body fat stored in the human body is called fat loss.
It is pertinent to note that if you are losing weight, then it does not necessarily mean that you are losing fat. If you lose muscle mass during weight loss, then your metabolism becomes slow. As a result of losing weight and losing weight quickly, it tends to come back twice as fast. Think of rapid results like pay day loans…..the interest you’ll pay is HUGE.
